Glass Resources & Buyer’s Guide
This is your go-to hub for expert information about glass types, performance, safety, and how to choose the right glass for your project. Whether you’re renovating, building new, or just learning about glass options, this guide helps you make informed decisions.
Glass Types we offer:
Tempered Glass
Tempered glass is safety glass that’s heat-treated to be much stronger than regular glass. If broken, it shatters into small, less hazardous pieces, making it ideal for shower doors, entry doors, patio doors, and high-traffic areas.
Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is made by bonding multiple layers of glass together with a durable inner layer. If the glass is impacted, the inner layer holds the broken pieces in place instead of allowing them to scatter. This makes laminated glass an excellent option for security, noise reduction, and UV protection, and it is often used in windows, doors, storefronts, and commercial applications.
Insulated Glass
Insulated glass consists of two or three panes sealed together with an insulating air or gas space between them. This construction improves thermal performance and helps regulate indoor temperatures. Insulated glass is ideal for homes and buildings looking to reduce energy loss, limit outside noise, and minimize condensation on interior glass surfaces.
Energy-Efficient Glass
Low-E (low emissivity) glass features a nearly invisible coating that reflects heat while allowing natural light to pass through. It helps keep interiors cooler during warmer months and warmer during colder months, while also reducing harmful UV rays that can fade furniture and flooring. Low-E glass is commonly paired with insulated units for maximum energy efficiency.
Frosted/Privacy Glass
Frosted glass is treated to create a smooth, translucent finish that obscures visibility while still allowing light to pass through. It is a popular choice for bathrooms, office partitions, sidelights, and interior glass features where privacy is important without sacrificing brightness or design appeal.
Tinted & Solar
Control Glass
Tinted glass reduces glare and limits solar heat gain by absorbing or reflecting sunlight. It can enhance comfort, reduce eye strain, and improve energy efficiency—especially in areas with strong sun exposure. Tinted and solar control glass are frequently used in residential windows, commercial buildings, sunrooms, and storefronts.
